Located in the heart of the Camargue Regional Natural Park at the gates of Arles and Saintes Maries de la Mer, this 4.5 hectare campsite benefits from choice halfway between the interior of Provençal lands (Baux de Provence, Saint Remy de Provence ) and the Mediterranean coast (Saintes Maries de la Mer).

A memorial was erected in memory of the gypsies locked up in the Saliers camp between 1942 and 1944. They were locked up because the law of April 6, 1940 prohibited the movement of nomads throughout the metropolitan territory for the duration of the war and imposed house arrest.

Lauricet wood is one of the rare wooded areas of the Camargue. The remaining woods are generally along the river, which provides them with the fresh water they need. These woods constitute important habitats for local fauna.
