This trail is an invitation to discover the Double. Through a journey through time, the visitor will discover the evolution of the landscape since antiquity and the natural riches that make up this very special environment. The Double has been shaped by important historical events to fight against stagnant water and malaria in the 19th century. This is why the forest of La Double has been partly replanted with pine trees. The diversity of landscapes resulting from this tumultuous past is still present today on the Etangs de la Jemaye. The Grand Etang de La Jemaye has been acquired by the Department, which manages the tourist activity while preserving the environment within the framework of the Espaces Naturels Sensibles.
