Harrison Barker was an English traveller who wrote books about his experiences in the south of France. "Two Summers in Guyenne, chronicle of the wayside and waterside" tells of his travels in the Dordogne. Leaving Domme for this second stage, heading for Cenac, you will pass in front of the church, a former priory built in 1090, where you will admire the sculpted capitals and modillions.
You will then see Castelnaud, built on a rocky spur overlooking the Dordogne and the Céou. Its fortress contains one of the most beautiful museums of medieval history, with an exceptional collection of period weapons.
Further on, the towers of the Château des Milandes loom large. Don't miss a visit to this 15th century château which was acquired by Josephine Baker after 1945.
Then, you will arrive at Cladech, end of this stage.
