A former pilgrimage route of 180 kilometers from the Périgord to Rocamadour, this magnificent route is now marked out, and allows you to cross the vineyards and hills of Bergerac in complete safety, before skirting the green Dordogne valley and its cliffs, to arrive in the valley of the Ouysse.
For this 8th stage, further upstream from the Dordogne, you will pass by the church of Cenac, an ancient priory built in 1090, where you will admire the sculpted niches and modillions.
Domme is just a stone's throw away, at the top of a rocky spur overlooking the Dordogne.
This bastide, built in 1281 by the French king Philippe III le hardi, has a defensive system that has been preserved. The ramparts are still in place as well as the three doors giving access to the city. The door of the Towers is the most visited because of the graffiti left by imprisoned Templars.
