Nantheuil's past includes a Romanesque church, which has been altered several times, and a château, once the seat of a priory. In the 19th century, the commune was home to two paper mills at La Brugère and Les Castilloux.
An observatory was built on the commune site on the initiative of a number of amateur astronomers. In summer, it is open every Friday evening for stargazing evenings open to all. PDIPR hiking trails
