Description

Two booklets, both fun and educational, allow children from 3 years old, accompanied by their families, to stroll through the bastide town of Cadillac, founded in the 13th century. By solving puzzles and riddles, they will discover the fortified gates, the ramparts, the market hall and its arcaded houses, and will thus understand the very particular geometric plan of this new medieval town. The tour will end with the Ducal Castle of Cadillac. After solving this riddle hunt, each little explorer is expected at the Tourist Office for a surprise...

Départ depuis la Porte de la Mer

Depuis l'office de tourisme, prendre à gauche. La porte est située face à la Garonne.

Observe l'échelle des crues de la Garonne

La Halle

Après être passé sous la porte de la Mer, dirige-toi au bout de la rue. Passe sous les maisons à arcades tu verras la halle. Tu es au centre du village.

Elle est située en direction de Loupiac, Rue Cazeau-Cazalet.

Maison de marchand rue Sarrazine

Dos à la porte de l'Horloge, prends la première rue à droite puis la première rue à gauche. C'est la plus ancienne de Cadillac.

Château Ducal

Au boute de la rue Sarrazine, traverse la rue du Général de Gaulle et la Place de a Libération, tu pourras observer le château ducal. C'est un monument national ouvert à la visite. Les enfants y sont les bienvenus !

Eglise du XIVème siècle ayant été modifiée au VVIème et XIXème siècle. Point d'intérêt non inscrit dans le parcours mais accessible gratuitement et situé face au château ducal.

Maison des Vins de Cadillac, Ecomusée

Lieu de visite non inclus dans le parcours mais accessible à pied depuis le centre historique de Cadillac (800 mètres). La visite est adaptée aux enfants (piano olfactif, aire de jeu, énigmes, jus de raisin...)

Bastide de Cadillac

This town is an example of a bastide or fortified town. Its central square surrounded by arcades, the well-defined city plan and fortified walls and gateways. Cadillac's history does not end here, however, the town was the fief of one of the most powerful figures of the 17th century, le Duc d'Epernon. A favorite of King Henry III, Epernon was the admiral of France and chief governor of Guyenne under Henry IV and Louis XIII. He built himself a chateau that rivaled some of the royal dwellings of the time.

Château ducal de Cadillac

Built at the beginning of the 17th century by a favourite of Henri III, the château of the Dukes of Epernon was in its day fit for a royal palace. Very typical of French architecture, it was converted in the 19th century into a women's prison. Classified historical monument. Unacompanied and guided tour, Heritage sales desk, bookshop with free access, permanent exhibition.
