Etang de Moulzoune

From the tennis courts take the “Sentier Cathar” towards Montsegur (markers white and red).

Pass the “Bordes de Bas” then at the stream head right (do not cross the right bank) as far as the hamlet of Ceries.

Take the D909 on the right, winding up and in the bend, at the wooden gate, climb left into a field as far as Ramier.

Pass the houses on the main road go to the left to take the pathway, which climbs and continues to the Moulzonne lake (pass the parking) (markers yellow and red).

Continue along the lake on the left hand side, climb to the ancient Fangas mines and the barracks:( yellow markers)

Climb the ridges and descend to the other side,keeping left,initially on the edge of the forest,as far as the Woodman’s house at l’Orri.

Descend, following the yellow markers, as far as the D909, which runs along on the right for about 1km.

Then turn left and take the track, which descends to the hamlet of Martinet.

Keep on this route after the hamlet, passing the reservoir, to return to the tennis courts.
