Le Tour de Sibra

Take the rue Montaragou, then go down the rue des Pyrénées. Walk past the oratory of Notre Dame de la Plaine. Notice while you’re there, the little wooden virgin embedded into the corner of the wall of the house opposite the oratory, which is a classified monument.

Carry on straight down the road which runs alongside the cemetery.

Cross the D7, and take the grassy path ahead of you, continuing for 50 metres. In doing so, you’ll be walking across the Plaine de Saint-Martin.

At the fork in the road, instead of the path which carries on up towards the Château de Sibra, follow the one which goes down to the river and which runs alongside the outer castle wall for 1.5 kilometres.

After the castle and the hamlet of Pastouret, take the tarmac road on the right where you’ll see a stone cross dated 1726. At the next fork in the road, bear leaft.

After the crossroads, cross the D28 and take the path straight ahead through the bois de Baures. Follow this path for 600 metres.

When you come to the tarmac road, turn right, then left 30 metres on, into the road which goes up to the village, and takes you back to the car park.
