The 500-kilometer, 21-stage Chemin d'Amadour combines the spirit of a legendary pilgrimage with the authenticity of rural landscapes. It takes you to places emblematic of the great pilgrimages of yesteryear, listed by UNESCO as a Compostela site (abbeys, churches, places of devotion, etc.) and crosses some of the most beautiful landscapes in the South-West: the Gironde estuary, the Entre-deux-Mer, the Dropt valley, the vineyards of Bordeaux and Bergerac-Duras, the Dordogne valley, the Causses du Quercy. It also crosses a spectacular built heritage: the historic centers of Bordeaux, Duras and Bergerac, the many wine-growing châteaux, bastides, châteaux in the Dordogne valley, medieval towns (Domme, Sarlat, Rocamadour).
