The name of the district: la hialère comes from the Bearnais word "hialèr" (spinner).
The hialère reminds us that the pastoralism of Ossalois developed an activity of treatment of the wool of the sheep whose preliminary was the washing in the many rivers: Bruscos, Hialler St Jean, Hialler St Pierre.
