Situé au cœur du massif des monts d’Ambazac, le circuit de la mure, situé dans la commune des Billanges, offre de vastes panoramas sur la campagne limousine. Cette randonnée sera également pour vous l’occasion de découvrir des hameaux typiques, des loges de vergers, des tourbières… A partir de la mairie des Billanges.

Ce parcours s’adresse aux traileuses et trailers exigeants qui ont déjà de l’expérience dans la discipline. Faux plats, descentes sur chemins caillouteux en forêts, terrains plats et montées vont s’enchaîner. Le retour à la base se fera en descente sur de très vieux chemins parfois très techniques. Domaine de Muret (Petit Muret) à proximité du parking du centre équestre.

This hike takes you to discover La Jonchère-Saint-Maurice and the Monts d'Ambazac. There are two variants, a sportier 16km version and a 13.6km version. Along the way, you'll discover small heritage sites, typical landscapes and the Jonchère arboretum, a listed site managed by the ONF, which offers a signposted trail to discover the different tree species.

The start of the GR4 is tough and requires a warm-up. At km4, you'll come across a surprising high-altitude fountain at 609m. Then a long descent takes you to the Chauverne bridge, back on the right bank. Admire the view (km11) over the Roche Talamy dam! Don't forget to bring your food and drink with you on this tour.

The winding route, with occasional open landscapes, is an invitation to enjoy and surpass yourself, progressively. At the top of the course, at 501m, you'll discover the Lalléger state forest. Take the time to warm up along the beach, as the Thaurion gorges offer some surprising slopes!

Fully-equipped 40 m² apartment, close to the village, the Monts d'Ambazac hiking and FFC mountain bike trails and the SINGLETRACKS Bike Park.

Set in 7,000 m² of parkland in the Monts d'Ambazac, Mas du Puy is a large family home where Stéphane spent his childhood. Today, 2 gîtes have been converted (total capacity of 12 people on site). With his daughters, he welcomes you for a relaxing stay in a countryside setting. This gîte opens onto the front garden side of the house. Access to the beautiful shared swimming pool (open from June 15 to September 15, weather permitting) is via the garden or the basement. Outside shower and toilet, shared sheltered terrace with small summer kitchen. The grounds are shared with the other gîte. Stéphane lives on site and takes care of daily pool maintenance.

Alain specializes in the production of perpetual vegetables. These are edible herbaceous perennials. They have fed us for generations. Today, many of the vegetables we grow are the result of numerous selections made from these perpetuals. Artichokes, rhubarb, strawberries and spring onions are the best known. Savory, agastache, hyssop, lovage and Kilimanjaro basil are aromatic or medicinal perennials that we appreciate for their scents and the well-being they bring us. For the gardener, perennials offer many advantages: low maintenance, frost resistance, few diseases, no treatments, easy to propagate. It's easy to see why permaculture has made them its panacea. The range of plants is vast, and Alain adds a few new ones every year.

The forest of Epagne is particularly remarkable for the nature of its soil. The massif is located on an outcrop of alkaline rocks, while the surrounding rocks are acidic in nature. These rocks (called gabbro) are associated here with other rocks called eclogites.These particularities give rise to a specific biotope, or habitat, unique in Limousin. There is a mosaic of forest habitats, some of which are of European interest: alluvial forests (bank afforestation), holly and beech forests, scree forests.Several species living on the site are also remarkable: Greater mouse-eared and Barbastelle bats, Otter (mammal), Sculpin and Planer Lamprey (fish), and Stag beetles (insects).For all these reasons, the Epagne forest is a Natura 2000 classified site, listed under the European Habitats Directive of 21 May 1992.Its rarity is also recognised by a Prefectural Decree for the Protection of Biotopes dated 7 July 1994.

Classified as a Natura 2000 site due to the interest of its forest environments, the Forêt d'Epagne invites you to discover its remarkable flora and fauna. Located in Sauviat sur Vige, halfway between Saint Léonard de Noblat and Bourganeuf, the Forêt d'Epagne is open to visitors via a 4 km, 2-hour walking trail. A twelve-stage interpretation trail presents the natural resources of the site. The composition of the soil, with its gabbro rock, and the presence of the Vige river foster a remarkable ecosystem: bear's garlic, winter horsetail, martagon lily, otters, salamanders, black woodpeckers... And for families, we recommend a visit to this majestic site with the Terra Aventura geocaching tour!

Béatrice welcomes you to her old-fashioned bistro. It's the only shop in this little rural spot on the edge of the Dauges peat bog and close to a hiking trail of the "pierre branlante". In the back of the store, she has set up a small grocery selling very local products from producers within a few miles. She sometimes organizes small festive evenings, concerts and shows, in all simplicity. Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Welcome to this mini-camping with 5 pitches. Enjoy the peace and quiet, relax and discover our magnificent region. You can pitch your tent, caravan or camper. The campsite has a sanitary block (heated in low season) with 2 showers and 2 WCs, a washbasin and a hand-washer. A barn provides a large table for lunch under cover. A sink is available for washing up. It is not possible to empty motorhomes. Dogs are allowed on the campsite, but only if they are kept on a leash and do not disturb other holidaymakers.

Set in an old stone house, "La Gasnerie" guest rooms are located in a farmhouse annex with a large garden and unobstructed views.
