Hiking trail "La Croix del fût". The village is situated in a granite country, with meadows and crops alternating with wooded areas. In the hamlets of Belaubre and Enfour, you will discover the traditional habitat with its red-tiled houses, with outside staircases leading to the wooden balcony facing south, topped by the plancadou where corn and chestnuts used to dry. On arrival, you will walk along the pond where the legend of the village bells still hangs in the air, on which, one mysterious day, the waters closed in. Not far from Maurs, we welcome you all year round, (booking required) and share with you our passion for animals. We fight animal suffering. We save animals from mistreatment, abandonment or other causes. We'll also introduce you to camelids - camels, dromedaries, llamas and alpacas. Guided tour of the Sanctuary: you enter each enclosure, unique to the Cantal region, and you'll be able to get up close and personal the animals, discovering them and petting them if they wish because this is their home and we owe them our respect. You can bring pieces of carrot, but above all, no bread. The sanctuary is home to goats, pigs and ponies, sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs and peacocks.

The church of Notre-Dame-de-Quézac, the magnificent decoration of which (half paintings, half marouflages) dates back to 1925, is home to one of the most famous Marian shrines in the Massif Central.

Maurs is the southern version of Auvergne. It has a lilting accent and the town's appearance is more akin to its neighbours in Lot or Aveyron than to the other Cantal towns. It's not called the Little Nice of Cantal for nothing... The town is squeezed around the Abbey of St. Caesarius, a 14th century gothic vessel, and has retained the almost perfect circular shape of its ramparts. The abbey church contains the reliquary bust of Caesarius, a masterpiece of 12th century goldsmith's art, as well as a collection of beautiful wooden statues and sculpted stalls, unique in Auvergne. Ruins of the estate of Naucaze built from the 12th to the 17th century. The castle is currently being restored. It still has a 12th century tower which is the oldest architectural element. Looted and burnt down in 1792, and visible from road D133.

In a protected environment, this charming and characterful place, classified as a sensitive natural area, lends itself to relaxation. The Moulin du Fau estate consists of approximately 7 hectares of land located on the banks of the Rance, about 1 km from the centre of Maurs. This site includes an old grain mill and a barn, a complex network of feeder and diversion canals, a fish pond and meadows. It's very easy to walk around the pond (about 1 km).

As in many Châtaigneraie villages, Le Trioulou has a pretty church and a picturesque castle with turrets. But there's something, or rather someone, you won't find anywhere else: Mélia the bee!

We're not talking about "galloping" demography yet, but it's clear that Parlan attracts many new inhabitants. Visitors, for their part, would be wrong to gallop along the village's 23 km of trails, so attractive is the surrounding countryside.

About 30 species of wild orchids are present on these few hectares which gather a quarter of the French flora and more than half of the Auvergne flora in orchids. The climate of the limestone mounds (former lake basin) located between Saint-Santin-de-Maurs and Montmurat is one of the mildest and driest in Cantal. These conditions give the landscapes, agriculture and natural environments a pronounced southern character. Free access on foot from the village of Saint-Santin-de-Maurs. The animal and plant species living on this Natura 2000 site are protected, so be careful.

Entraygues Castle dates back to the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. Various elements are included in the historic-monuments register such as the walls and roofs, beautiful carved doors, French painted ceilings, wallpapers... Outside, free visit of the fancy garden.

Museum on the unique history of the “double village” of Saint-Santin that delimits two communes, two departments, and even two regions! Marie-Pierre in Cantal and Pierre-Marie in Aveyron remember and share with you the daily life of the people of Saint-Santin at the end of the 19th century, a life that is strange, funny and moving...

L'Auberge de Mourjou, with its restaurant and guest rooms, has been open since 18 March 2024.
