This route leads you from the village, through the neighborhoods and into the forest to an observation point where you can watch the grey cranes during their stay in the Landes de Gascogne (from November to February).

Here, at the beginning of autumn, when everything seems to be getting ready to slowly return to winter, the cooing of the doves and the "crou-crou" of the whooping cranes wake up a whole world.

Drive along the small roads of the Gironde high moor through a discovery circuit of the airials, a traditional "open" habitat. Around a vast expanse of short grass, there is a manor house with a large awning facing east, houses and outbuildings.

This walk takes you in the footsteps of the Gascon Pope Clement V. You will then walk through pine and fern forests until you discover beautiful lagoons and the inevitable Ciron. If you are lucky, wild animals, roe deer or hares may surprise you during your walk!

In the footsteps of François Mauriac, discover the Paroupian country and the great diversity of its rural heritage (monumental adornment of its town), witness of its industrial past You will be seduced by these moorland landscapes, dotted with pine and heather. The path follows a section of the Bazas-Mios cycle track, located on the former line of the Compagnie des Chemins de Fer Economiques. If you are lucky, you will be able to see deer and hare at the edge of the woods.

This circuit is located around Saint-Symphorien where François Mauriac's parents had a holiday chalet built. The young Mauriac, until his teenage years, travelled through these places, which remain unchanged today, and drew much of his inspiration from them.

Discover Noaillan with the Municipal Youth Council! On the initiative of the Municipal Youth Council, the heritage trail was inaugurated on 17 November 2018. You leave from the site of Antonion on the edge of Ciron, you go up the Ciron river to discover the castle of Noaillan, the church, the children's forest, the Dubernet estate, the wash-house. This 2 hour walk along the water will make you discover the heritage of Noaillan. On the route, you will discover QR-Codes that you can flash with your smartphone to access additional information. This route is accessible to everyone, even children.

A route that crosses a wide variety of places, starting with the Regional Natural Park, passing through the Armagnac region, Mont-de-Marsan and the hilly landscapes of the Chalosse. The interior of the Landes, the Landes gastronomy, the welcoming inhabitants... A crossing which reserves beautiful surprises.

It is by taking part of the Mios-Bazas cycle path that you can admire the landscapes of the Bazadais as well as some testimonies of its glorious past such as the castle of Roquetaillade.

A former collegiate church, now listed as a historical monument, which houses the tomb of Pope Clement V. The house dates from the 1800s and is the former home of the property's "masters" when the mill was still active with its miller. Built with beautiful local stone, the house has a remarkable charm. At Marquèze station, everyone gets off. In the middle of the forest, on a 25 ha airial, a whole disappeared civilization reappears. If you are more adventurous, it is possible to rent a canoe and to leave on the calm waters of the Leyre

Château Guiraud takes its name from a Bordeaux negociant, Pierre Guiraud, who purchased the estate in 1766. Included among the first growths in the 1855 classification, Château Guiraud has more than a hundred hectares of vines. This magnificent property is well-known for their natural approach to viticulture. This entailed building an insect hotel, planting five kilometers of hedges, developing genetic diversity, studying and propagating vines in a conservatory, etc. Château Guiraud is currently the only first growth in the 1855 classification to be officially certified for organic viticulture. The estate’s ecological orientation helps to produce great wines with a strong personality and tremendous finesse. Founded in the eighteenth century, Château La Tour Blanche is a 40 hectares estate located in the commune of Bommes. The last owner, Daniel "Osiris" Iffla, left the chateau to the French state, on the condition that a Wine School was set up offering free practical experience.

An observation point with free access in the summer has been set up on the edge of agricultural fields to observe these "grey ladies" during the winter period from 10 am to 4 pm approximately. A palisade in brande makes it possible to look at them discreetly with binoculars, without disturbing them. To get there, go in front of the village inn (a pleasant lunch break before or after observing the cranes) and follow the loop of cranes marked out with wooden stakes along the paths to reach the observation site. The return journey is partly along the same path and the loop ends at the village of Cazalis Access by vehicle is prohibited.

Of the primitive construction of the 12th century, only the chevet remains. The very high gabled bell tower dates from the 14th century. The central nave was rebuilt in the 16th century. The aisles were built between the 16th and 18th centuries. The turret of the staircase was rebuilt in the 18th century.

The old parish of Insos was under the Ancien Régime, under the lordship of Cazeneuve for the temporal. After the revolution, it was attached to Préchac. This church, isolated in the middle of the moor, was recently restored. The Romanesque chevet, well preserved, is pierced with lancets and topped by a cornice with sculpted and historiated modillions. It has a very beautiful buttressed gable bell tower, of a homogeneous military character from the 14th century. To the north, it receives a turret containing a spiral stairway. The portal opens at the base, simple and elegantly built, and comprises three colonettes with imposts, three vaults and an archivolt.

This figure of the Trojan Horse is presented here as a playful and stimulating infiltration into the landscape, opening a back door to an imaginary world of multiple and unpredictable proposals. A pretext for very diverse meanings, the horse has the particularity of being associated with water. On this lake, Bruno Peinado charges it with his magical gifts, and gives it a pixelated form that evokes this method of camouflage based on optical illusion created by a multiplication of facets. The bright yellow colour reinforces this ability to designate a presence offered, without ever closing itself off, to a wide variety of interpretations and resources. It's up to each one to experience the mètis of the Greeks, which combines the intelligence of cunning and the right measure.

About sixty kilometres south of Bordeaux, near Bazas, Cazeneuve château is particularly known for being the residence of the Kings of Navarre. Overlooking the Ciron Valley, Cazeneuve is a beautiful example of a medieval castle, surrounded by an impressive allure. Discover that the Albret Nobility lived there from the 13th century, followed by famous owners, with the most famous being Henry IV. In the royal apartments, furnished with perfectly preserved furniture from the era, admire the marital bed which the “Vert Galant” shared with Queen Margot. If the interior is exciting and full of treasures which have survived the centuries, you can also stroll around the park among the towering pine trees and discover the Queen’s cave and the bamboo garden. And as you are in a wine region, don’t miss the great medieval cellar where some great Bordeaux vintages are ageing.

Castle of King Henry IV and Queen Margot Château Royal (Classified Historic Monument) entirely restored and furnished with period furniture in the immediate vicinity of Bordeaux. This rather complex edifice is composed of a primitive nucleus, chevet and central nave from the 11th century, enlarged in the 12th century by aisles and absidioles. In the 14th century the bell tower was built, then in the 16th century a new aisle was built on the north side. Thick pilasters support a gabled bell tower.

A gallery of deciduous trees seems to protect the Ciron, this river of sand and rust colours. The filtered light reveals the luxuriant vegetation of the banks. The impressive tranquillity of the site is sometimes broken by the singing of birds or by the flight of dragonflies hunting around the rushes. From Villandraut, there are many possibilities to discover the valley on foot, by bike or by canoe.

La Ronde des Ombelles responds to a request expressed by children from the village. Their wish to have access to games was taken up and relayed by the commune. The artist Yves Chaudouët, from the outset, chose to carry the children's words in the sense of a bearer of fire. The children and the project grew up together. It was necessary to get to the point where the first desire could metamorphose in the teenagers that they became, to raise words like embers, to find a poetic form that combines steel and luminescent ceramic, the turnstile and the vegetable maze, etc. La Ronde des Ombelles has never strayed from the first dream. It is now a work of art in seven modules spread over a circle 140 metres in diameter.

The Cercle de l'Union of Luxey is an active member of the Fédération des cercles de Gascogne. Born from the social and republican movements which followed the Revolution, these associative cafés remained today places of meetings and conviviality in the boroughs of the Landes de Gascogne. 7 circles of Gascony became cafés de Pays. The Cercle de l'Union is the main venue for the Musicalarue festival in the summer and is open all year round.
