Tour quiet easy around Najac to discover very old fountains in wooded and quiet surroundings. Start possible from the holiday village VAL-VVF at the locality Puech Moutonniers. Essential to the village life the fountains were supplied by drainage water from the Terre-Rouge/La Planquette plateau. They are called “griffouls”. The first fountain was built in 1344 in the Bourguet area into a granite block. Some ancient consuls and bishops faces are sculpted on it. The fountain was used until the beginning of the 20th century.

Tour approachable for everybody around the hamlet of Mergieux. However some parts have a difference in height quite important. This tour do not start from Najac, it is accessible by car or from the tours n°6 and n°8. The main part of this tour is in the forest. Some conifers were planted for the forestry development but the broad-leaved trees constituted the forest cover until the early 20th century. The forests around Mergieux holiday village are use by the ONF (Forestry Commission).

This 232km trail offers hikers a formidable walk through Tarn’s patchwork landscapes. This Grande Randonnée circuit, which covers a distance of approximately 232 kilometres, is a wonderful getaway to discover all the splendours that characterise the Tarn department. Come and discover 2000 m² of inflatable water structures set up on the river Tarn. All the games put together create a course that is almost 70 metres long and 30 metres wide. The wearing of a life jacket and the continuous presence of lifeguards guarantee optimal safety. The activity is reserved for children over 6 years old who can swim. Children between 6 and 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult to take part in the activities at the Aqua-Parc d'Aiguelèze. The Toulouse-Lautrec museum is located in one of the most beautiful corners of Albi: the Berbie Palace. The Palace is one of the Episcopal City’s major sites with World Heritage status. The museum is recognised internationally for the works of this artist from Albi. TOULOUSE-LAUTREC, A UNIQUE COLLECTION IN THE WORLD The world’s most important public collection of the works of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, including 31 posters by the lithograph painter, is to be found in Albi. There are also no fewer than 219 paintings, 563 drawings and 183 lithographs displayed in the museum. Early works, major portraits, paintings of brothels, prints from the world of entertainment, advertisements and later works are presented there, giving this museum an exceptional collection. Each stage of the production is represented, highlighting his gift for observation, his talent as a draughtsman and his quality for capturing significant detail. The route around the museum is enriched with information panels. To visit the museum is to meet the man, this native of Albi, of whom this city is so proud. The first rooms are devoted to his early works representing his family, his friends and his favourite theme: animals. Gradually the visitor is taken into the Parisian world: the brothels, especially the world of entertainment and the circus. Room after room, we follow the evolution of this unusual artist.

Shopping in a listed site in the heart of the historic center! The Albi market is held in a unique setting, a Baltard-style pavilion built in 1903. More than a century old, it's a popular meeting place for locals and visitors alike. Twenty or so stores open their doors, offering authentic, quality products. Market gardeners, greengrocers, caterers, fishmongers, pork butchers, cheese-makers, pastry-makers... It's even possible to eat under the covered market, with a choice of catering outlets.

This public fountain deeply carved in a huge mass of granite is at the center of the village. A latin inscription relates the date of its construction and the name of the Conuls under whom it was erected.

This chapel was previously linked to a hospital and a cementery. The gate is the only remaining item. It was linked to and relied upon the Dômerie d’Aubrac.

Organized to accommodate markets, the place, long and narrow, is surrounded by stone or wood covered houses from 15 and 16th centuries. They all have porches under which the stalls were sheltered for sale.

Built at the foot of the fortress, this residence dating from the end of the Middle Ages, is said to have been the residence of the Senechal du Rouergue in the day when Najac was the administrative and judiciary capital of the Rouergue province.

This is a defensive strucutre built at the same time as the forteress by Alphonse de Poitiers. It is used to be part of the wall that surrounded the city of Najac until the 18th century.

This used to be a rest area (hence the name : La Pause) on the medieval road (former roman path) leading to Najac via the St Blaise bridge. Thanks to renowned fairs and traditional markets, this part of town remained a flourishing neighborhood until the end of 19th century.

This gothic bridge was built in the 13th century, along the primitive road witch led toward Villefranche de Rouergue. It allowed merchants and pilgrims to cross the Aveyron river in all seasons, on their way to Saint Jacques de Compostelle.

The Toulouse-Brive Railway was built in 1860. In Laguépie-Najac section, there are 13 bridges and 13 tunnels !

Following in the footprints of Saint James of Compostela (from Conques to Toulouse), explore Tarn on horseback, by bike or go for a swim a stone’s throw away from the trail. It's an ideal holiday home for recharging your batteries and spending a holiday full of discoveries with family and friends. The house was renovated in 2013 and is therefore completely new, to accommodate up to eight people.
