The church of Saint-Bruno is the last architectural testimony of the prestigious Carthusian monastery built under the episcopate of Cardinal François de Sourdis, archbishop of Bordeaux from 1599 to 1628. It was consecrated by the Cardinal de Sourdis on March 29, 1620. Inspired by the Roman churches after the Council of Trent, it is the first Bordeaux testimony of Baroque art.
