Description

The Royal Harmony Society was founded in 1829 with the aim of encouraging emerging talents and to foster a taste for music. It has played host to many concerts. The fountain, inaugurated in September 2003, depicts an eagle spreading its wings as it kills a snake, which spits out a jet of water. This statue is full of symbolism: the constant fight between good (the eagle) and evil (the snake).
