A real little jewel with shimmering colors, in the Middle Ages it was the chapel of the cemetery. Built in the 15th century on the initiative of the parish priest, it is decorated with wall paintings from the end of the 15th century, probably commissioned by the lord of Contour, Jean de Moussy, also lord of Bois-Morand in Antigny. They evoke in particular a scene very much in vogue at the end of the Middle Ages, the "Meeting of the three dead and the three alive" which occupies nearly 20% of its painted surface and which reminds us of the fragility of earthly life and the hope of resurrection. This ensemble can be compared to the paintings in the chapel located in the church of Antigny.
Classified as a Historic Monument in 1908.
The key to this chapel is available at the restaurant Le Val de Gartempe and at the town hall.
