The bishop of Metz had this chapel built in 1173, as well as a hospital and lodgings at the western gate of Sarrebourg for travellers when the city gates were closed. Following various development works, the chapel was moved: in 1851 when the Rue de Lunéville was widened and the railway line was laid out, and in 1921 when the metal bridge was built. It was rebuilt on the present site in the rue de Verdun. It was refurbished in 1976. Four beautiful stained glass windows depict the childhood of Christ.
