A few paces from the Grand-Place, the MHM appeals to a focus on the long history of Tournai, its fortifications, the numerous sieges of the city, by Edward III, Henry VIII, CHarles-Quint, Louis XIV, the duke of Malborough, Louis XV, and the famous battle of Fontenoy. It's important collection of weapons, uniforms and equipment also illustrates the revolutionary and imperial period, the Belgian regiments quartered in Tournai and the events of WW1 and WW2.
