Description

The Royal Golf Club of Hainaut, located in Jurbise on the lands of the Princes of Croÿ, was inaugurated in 1933 thanks to the initiative of golf enthusiasts. Designed by the English architect Tom Simpson, the course was created to blend seamlessly with the natural landscape of the region, with its heathlands and gorse. Today, the club features a 27-hole course, divided into three 9-hole loops, offering a challenge accessible to golfers of all levels in an idyllic setting. The historic course has undergone several transformations over time. After being heavily damaged during World War II, it was largely rebuilt by German prisoners of war under the direction of a British officer who was a golf enthusiast. In 1976, a new redesign adapted the course to modern standards, adding new holes and extending the course to 18 holes. In 1990, a further expansion added 9 holes, designed by architect Frédéric G. Hawtree, which perfectly complemented the existing holes.Today, the Royal Golf Club of Hainaut is one of the most prestigious clubs in Belgium, managed as a non-profit organization, ensuring that all resources generated are invested in the comfort and enjoyment of its members. The friendly atmosphere and warm welcome are appreciated by all who visit this location. The club offers a high-quality course, modern facilities, and impeccable service, making it an unmissable destination in the Belgian golfing landscape.
