On the place called Platier, near Duras, the house of the Donnadieu family in which Marguerite, her mother and her two brothers Pierre and Paul lived after the death of the father, from 1922 to 1924 and then for a few months in 1931 when the estate was sold. In 1943, Marguerite Donnadieu published her first novel in Paris and adopted Marguerite Duras as her name. Titled LES IMPUDENTS, this first novel Marguerite Duras set it in the site of Platier: the house, the park, the Dropt, the peasant life of the time. In 1992, she kept a vivid memory of it
