This forest constitutes the continuity of the Bellifontain massif towards the South.
This public forest occupies the geological perimeter of the Gulf of Larchant and surrounds the marsh which has become a regional nature reserve.
With its stretches of fine sand, its picturesque rocks, this forest is completely part of the Fontainebleau forest’s physiognomy.
This forest is located mainly on the territory of Larchant, and refers to an old preceptory of the Templars on the territory of Grez-sur-Loing.
