Built or rebuilt in the centre of Brive at the beginning of the 15th century (perhaps around the tomb of the Saint to whom it owes its name), the Chapelle Saint-Libéral had an eventful history before being transferred to the City of Brive in 1976. Inscribed in 1978 in the Supplementary Inventory of Historical Monuments, this Gothic style chapel has been a space for exhibitions and cultural activities since the 1980s and offers a rich and varied programme throughout the year. Since September 2011, it has been attached to the Labenche Museum.
The Saint-Libéral chapel is closed to the public on Mondays and on 1 January, 1 May, 1 November and 25 December.
On the other days, during the temporary exhibitions, the chapel is open:
- Tuesday to Saturday 12 am to 6 pm and Sunday 3 pm to 6 pm, from 1 October to 30 April;
- Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 6pm and Sunday 3pm to 6pm, from 1 May to 30 September.
