In 1807, the first catholic secondary school in the Ain was founded by Father Ruivet, former non-juring priest. The Chapel was also built at that time.
The main building was completely rebuilt in 1859 by Bossan, the architect of Notre-Dame de Fourvière.
It was closed during a short period after the law of the separation of the Church and the State in 1905.
The school was converted into a hospital during the Great War and received a lot of casualties.
In 1968, it was definitely closed and, since May 1980, the town hall has been installed in the building.
