A charming little village only 3 km from Largentière, which has a spectacular view over the Alps and Mount Ventoux.
Once part of Chassiers and then part of Largentière from 1974 to 1989, Tauriers finally gained its independence soon after.
At the top of this fortified village is the 13th century castle, a private residence, listed as a historic monument.
The Romanesque church St Julien de Brioude, was restored in the 19th century and two modern stained glass windows were added.
Notre Dame de Tous Biens chapel, situated at the top of the hill, was built in 1875. It faced several violent storms and only the ruins remain now. It is also known as the "chapel of the three bell towers".
You will love the Rose Garden in Berty and its collection of 700 olden roses.
It is open in May and June.
