Lanterne des Morts de Château-Larcher
Description
The cemetery, on the same site since the Middle Ages, has in its center a Lantern of the Dead which dates from the 13th century. It measures 8m50 and is one of the rare testimonies of funeral practices in the Middle Ages (only 33 lanterns in France).
