The village bears witness to the rural life of the people of Xaintrie (an old country nestled between the Dordogne Valley and the Auvergne Volcanoes).
In a natural setting of 12 hectares, you will enter several authentic farms fully furnished dating from the end of the 15th century. You will also discover the mill, the chapel, the notary's house...
Far from being a museum of dusty rarities, this open-air site, which is constantly under construction, is also full of life. You will be amazed by the scents and atmosphere, by the animals in their stables or in the meadows, by the blackened kitchens that smell of smoke, not forgetting the peasant gardens with over 350 plants.
The visit is complemented by a scenographic animation at the beginning of the tour to immerse you in the atmosphere of the countryside in the Middle Ages, so that you can better appreciate this unique site and the values it embodies.
Shop with regional products and bookshop specialising in the Middle Ages and plants.
