This work welcomes you at one of the entrances to the city.It was following a nocturnal visit to the Ardennes forests in 1899 that Jean-Marie Gaspar, a sculptor from Arlon, found the inspiration to create this bellowing deer, the monument “the call of the forest”.It has adorned Astrid Square since 1936, where it can be found in an enlarged version. To discover the original work, go to the Gaspar Museum, where you will also find many other works by him and his brother, who was also an artist.
