FEUILLÉE DOROTHÉE

Viewpoint overlooking the Combeauté valley with on the right the Saint-Valbert coast, and on the left, the Prieuré d'Hérival nestled in a remote part of the gorge. At the beginning of the 19th century, only a small farm existed when Empress Josephine visited it. This place had its period of fame from 1827 when a young girl, Dorothée Vançon, sang and played Epinette des Vosges while serving refreshments to her guests, thus contributing to the reputation of the place which naturally bears her first name.
