Manoir de Prades

Built on a hill in the 1520s by Bernard de Cortète to protect his estate of Prades and his mill located on the banks of the Séoune, rebuilt in the following century, the manor house of Prades differs significantly from its original state. Today, it forms with its outbuildings a quadrilateral around a central courtyard. To the west, the main 16th century main building consists of a rectangle flanked at its corners by 4 round turrets, two corbelled on the courtyard side and two on the ground floor outside. Its courtyard facade, pierced by 8 mullioned windows, has a hexagonal tower at its centre which houses the stairwell. It has two windows and a large Renaissance-style entrance door. Inside the tower, a wide stone spiral stairway leads upstairs and up to the attic.
