WALK IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE ROMANS BY VISITING THE ANCIENT RUINS OF THEIR CIVILIZATION IN VAISON LA ROMAINE. THEN, SAVOUR WINE AND CHEESE AS YOU DISCOVER THE PROVENÇAL COUNTRYSIDE.
Start your day by visiting the Vaison la Romaine, recognised as one of the ‘100 Most Beautiful Detours of France’ for its heritage and history. Admire the ancient ruins of the former “Vasio Vocontiorum”, the capital of the Vocontii people and also the city of medieval churches which tell the rich history of the city.
Afterwards, head to the market and discover diverse Mediterranean products before you participate in a wine and cheese workshop with the advice and supervision of your master cheese-maker.
Continue your day with a delicious homemade lunch in the perched village of Séguret. You will be swept away by the typical Provençal environment and the medieval character that surround these areas.
End your excursion with a wine tasting before heading back to minibus and returning to Avignon.
