The former 15th century church now only retains the choir and the forechoir, which was closed off to form a chapel. The choir is a listed monument. Contz was an important crossing point on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, and in the 19th century the old church could no longer accommodate all the parishioners. In the old church, the original colours have been preserved on the walls, sky blue above and ochre below.
It contains a keystone, probably from the nave, with the personal coat of arms of Arnould VI of Sierck (1386-1454), restored in 1889.
