Description

You can take line 7 which connects Miramas to Marseille. This line runs along the entire Côte Bleue from Martigues to Estaque.
With the "Train de la Côte Bleue" you will discover a panoramic route in the heart of the protected creeks and enjoy a bird's eye view of the big blue and its turquoise waters.

Swimming on the magnificent beaches of La Couronne and Carro and tourist discoveries are on the agenda.

This spectacular route was created in 1882, with its 18 viaducts, 4 of which bear the 20th century heritage label, 7 stations, 8 stops, 2 bridges and 23 tunnels.

Our ideas and tips from Martigues station (Lavéra):
- Sports activities with the Cercle de Voile de Martigues (windsurf, paddle, kayak, dinghy) or Hot School Martigues (school of sliding - windsurf, paddle, towed session). 30 minutes from the station by Ulysse bus (L30 or L23).

- The discovery of cultural heritage: the chapel of the Annonciade, Le Calen (one of the last in France), the sculptures of Bourvil and Fernandel in connection with the film "La cuisine au beurre" shot in Martigues, the house in policeman's hat, the sculptures of the fisherman and the mender in homage to Martigues, a fishing town, the Mirror of Birds inspired by many painters, the Martigues drawbridge and the Saint-Louis d'Anjou church.

Reach the city center of Martigues in 19 minutes with the Ulysse L23 bus.
In 25 - 30 minutes, you can reach the outskirts of town to visit the archaeological site of Tholon and discover the chapel of Notre-Dame-des-Marins where you can admire the highest viewpoint in Martigues.

- Gastronomy: the market of Jonquières and Ferrières (Thursday and Sunday mornings), the shop of the artisan pastry chef "Aux pearls of the pond" to discover the local specialties: The tomettes and the pearls of the pond, the shop of the ice cream maker "Gelateria Arnaldo". 10 minutes from the station by Ulysse bus (L23 or L26).

- Nature, walks and hikes: The Grand Parc de Figuerolles (educational farm, tree climbing, carousel, picnic, pony rides...), the path "Between sea and ponds", the GR2013 - From Martigues to the Croix-Sainte station, the Marie-Madeleine Martigues - Carry-le-Rouet route. Also enjoy Ferrières beach in the city center. 15 minutes from the station by Ulysse bus (L23 or 26).

- Free museums: the Ziem Museum (temporary exhibitions), the Martigues History Gallery, the Gnidzaz Cinematheque. 13 minutes from the station by Ulysse bus (L23 or L26).

- Leisure: Indian Forest - tree climbing at the Grand Parc de Figuerolles (40 minutes by Ulysse L26 + L24 bus). Also discover the treasure hunts of the Martigues Tourist Office (My explore bag, Box treasure hunter, Randoland Parc de Figuerolles).

- By bike (accepted on trains except during rush hour), take the greenway from Lavéra station to Martigues town center as far as the lifting bridge (2km).
