
Opulent villas line the marina, bathed in sunlight, with architects playing with geometric variations in both the overall structure and decorative details. The 20-metre-high grain silo was linked to merchant shipping on the Canal. Its use declined sharply when it gradually ceased operations, rivalled by the expansion of the railway network in south-western France. Today it is used as a secondary silo by the Qualisol agricultural cooperative, based in Castelsarrasin.
