In the 13th century, a building known as a hostellerie already stood on the site of today's château. The castle was not built until the 17th century. In the 19th century, its architecture was redesigned and it was enlarged.
The estate covers 38 hectares in a single block, and its grounds include a number of small pavilions listed as historic monuments for their remarkable architecture.
