On the heights of the bay of Mont-St-Michel, is the village of St-Michel de Montjoie, known historically as a place of passage for pilgrims. A few steps from the gîte, the orientation table located at the church allows you to benefit from an exceptional panorama over the entire Mortainais valley and, in good weather, to glimpse the contours of the Marvel. The town remains the last center of extraction of a granite known as "Bleu de Vire". You will be able to discover this history thanks to a walk and a family route within the granite museum park in the heart of the village classified as "Village Patrimoine". Spacious and bright, this granite residence now has a very pleasant contemporary interior that highlights the stones that are still visible. Hiking enthusiasts, the surrounding hills are a great playground for walks or bike rides, including the GR22 (long-distance hiking trail linking Notre Dame de Paris to Mont-St-Michel).
