The birthplace of Saint Thérèse - the house of her sainted parents Louis and Zélie - is open to visitors, giving an authentic look at how life was in those times. The guided tour follows the lives of the Martin family - Saints Louis and Zélie, Saint Thérèse de Lisieux and her sisters - through 5 locations around Alençon: the hall, with its historic gallery, the exhibition of personal items, the auditorium, the house and the chapel. A film based on family correspondence shows us family life in Alençon where she lived between 1871 and 1877.
The setting recreates the atmosphere and youth of the young saint. The chapel celebrates Sainte Thérèse in sculpture and frescoes and opens into the room where Thérèse was born. It was also here that Saint Zélie drew her final breath. The tour ends with the shop and welcome area. There is a lift to the first floor and the chapel.
Audio-guided tour.
The chapel is open every day from 8am to 6pm.
