The St Laurent moor has been designated as a site of major ecological interest at European level (Natura 2000 program). It is managed by the Conservatoire Régional des Espaces Naturels du Limousin and the Communauté de communes du pays de Saint-Yrieix, in partnership with the commune of La Roche l?Abeille. It is made up of serpentine, a low-acid rock unlike the region's granite. Its highly original ecosystems are home to a rare biological heritage.
To discover it, follow the 4 km interpretation trail, which focuses on pastoralism. Sheep tracks guide visitors as they discover the natural and historical riches of the Lande. The trail is easy to follow.
