This small lake is in fact a reservoir artificially created on a peat bog environment in 1989 to meet the drinking water needs of the Hautes-Combes municipalities. Its waters disappear into a ponor, which was once adapted to accommodate a wheel for energy production. The waters then run into the Flumen, around 6 kilometres to the North. Swimming and fishing are prohibited here, and, due to its beauty, this site invites contemplation and listening.
