Château de la Chapelle-Bellouin in La Roche-Rigault (visited in July and September): a 14th century castle, built next to a 13th century tower whose lower part remains, was completely refurbished during the first Renaissance by Henri Bohier. The latter was general finance of Francis the 1st, as his younger brother was, who built Chenonceau. It is an unique example of a fortified castle, completely rebuilt with the will of introducing Renaissance architecture in our country.
