Bastide de Viellesegure

Description
Viellesegure, petit village typiquement béarnais, se trouve sur la route de Navarrenx, à proximité de Sauvelade et du chemin de Compostelle.
La bastide est fondée en 1339 sur un chemin de transhumance, près d’un château du vicomte du Béarn, rapidement transformé en forteresse (auj. détruit). L’une des plus vastes places de bastide en Béarn. La vocation agricole existe encore de nos jours, variété de maisons s’étalant du XVIIe au XIXe siècles. Près de la place, château des seigneurs de Vianne (XVIIe).
