Description

Remarkable yews and pneumatophores of old hornbeam trees line the Notre-Dame des Champs chapel, which can be seen on Beynac's "Squirrel" hiking trail.
After the Henri IV bridge, the hedged path leads to an old mill currently being restored.
Nestled in this fisherman's paradise is a grotto dedicated to the Virgin Mary. This is the chapel of Notre-Dame des Champs, built in 1880 by the Romanet du Caillaud family, who owned the mill on the opposite bank.
The chapel, which is still in use today, is surrounded by six yew trees forming a canopy. By the water's edge, a taxodium and old hornbeam trees.
