Created 30 years ago, the Railwayworker museum proposes to discover the past of Ambérieu en Bugey heritage.
With the help of videos, functional life-size models, a switching station, a canteen, a dormitory together with an infirmary, it retraces the life of the “railway people.” We can also admire the uniforms and a very handsome collection of caps…These are all pages from the history of the town, reminding us that the railroad appeared in Ambérieu in 1856 and in its wake a change in the landscape and in village life. These installations are there to awaken buried memories through the work achieved by the museum’s archivists and volunteers.
Adult: 5 €. Free entry for children < 12 years, the drivers. Group rate available for > 10 people.
