Visite guidée des carrières souterraines de la Maladrerie

The Caen la mer Tourist Office and the Mission de Valorisation du Patrimoine de la Ville de Caen organize guided tours of the Maladrerie underground quarries. The Maladrerie quarries were mined from the 17th to the 19th century, and reopened in the 1980s to build the Memorial. No longer exploited, the quarries have recently been refurbished to enable visitors to enjoy the site in complete safety. Following a well-lit, signposted path, you'll discover the large chambers where this world-renowned stone was extracted.
