La rue Victor Basch (ancienne rue du Gouvernement) est l'une des plus intéressantes de la vieille ville. Au n°5, en levant les yeux, remarquez les charmantes ferronneries en demi-lune du XVIIe siècle, au n°12, une façade en brique et pierre du XVIe siècle, avec de belles ouvertures à meneaux, en face, une fresque murale réalisée en 1990 par la Cité de la Création de Lyon, au n°22-24, une maison à colombage en encorbellement, ancien Hôtel de la Monnaie du XVe siècle... et au n°21, l'ancien hôtel du Gouvernement, siège du pouvoir de la province de Bresse à l'époque savoyarde.
