Description

Guided tour of 2 sites (900m) telling the story of J. Besset from his wheelwright apprenticeship to car body work and making coaches. Video room, small-scale models, vehicle exhibition.
Tour option including museum and Iveco Bus.
In a friendly atmosphere, a guided tour will retrace Joseph Besset's extraordinary industrial epic. On site No. 1, you'll enter a late 19th-century wheelwright's workshop with its tools, forge and machinery. A little further on, an extensive collection of scale models will introduce you to coaches from all eras and all continents.

A highly original video room will take you on a pleasant journey through the fabulous history of the coach industry...

To round off this extraordinary journey back in time, we welcome you to site 2, where you will discover 1000 m² of vehicles from the small-scale era: the Rolland Pilain car from 1928, the Citroën P32 coach from 1935, seen in the film Faubourg 36, the Citroën P45 from 1947, the Tubincendie from 1947, etc. to the industrial era: Isobloc from 1943 and 1955, Saviem SC10 and S53, R312, FR1, etc.

A sheet metal forming workshop invites you to discover a trade that enabled highly skilled workers to make the bodies of the first vehicles with just a few tools...
