Le 10 mai 40, les artificiers belges firent sauter plusieurs constructions pour ralentir l'avancée des troupes ennemies allemandes dont le pont de Rochelinval. Un peu plus tard dans la journée, les allemands traversèrent la rivière en aval du pont.
