Description
Square Abbé Brand, at the foot of the church, was inaugurated in 1994 as a tribute to this young chaplain who, with his strength of conviction, saved the lives of 60 hostages when a retreating German company passed through on August 27, 1944, a hot summer Sunday, in the late afternoon. The Germans were in fact the vanguard of a large column that passed through La Roche-Posay for several days. Magnificent panorama over the Creuse.
