The first vines were planted by monks in a convent in the Middle Ages. The vineyard owes its name to the stream known as "La Perrière", from the word Pierrière, meaning stone quarries. The Château produces four wines in the Lussac commune: La Rose Perrière, La Perrière Rouge, La Perrière Blanc and La Perrière Rosé; and one Saint-Emilion Grand Cru wine: Clos les Grandes Versannes.
The château opens its doors to visitors for a tour of its winery, vineyards, tasting room and 14-hectare gardens.
