Un Chapeau de Paille d'Italie is a comedy in 5 acts by Eugène LABICHE. Directed by Roger Blanchet and performed by Les Comédiens Chapelais.
Synopsis
"On the morning when Fadinard is about to get married, his horse eats the straw hat of a pretty woman in tender conversation with her lover. The couple chase Fadinard all the way home and refuse to leave until he has replaced the hat, since Anaïs has a jealous husband who is surprised by the disappearance. Without saying a word to his wedding party, Fadinard sets off in search of a hat, a difficult task that takes him from a milliner's to the salon of a cantankerous old man. Each time his wedding party turns up, bewildered and clumsy, invariably stirring up trouble. One funny situation follows another, the laughter is constant and the pace frantic. All to the delight of the audience. Let's hope that at the end of the day poor Fadinard will be able to unearth: Un Chapeau de Paille d'Italie."
